Fall Festival:
This year the Fall Festival is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 30th. This is an event children
look forward to as they get a chance to wear costumes, play games with their friends and win prizes.
It is also a great opportunity for families to get to know each other and actively participate in the event.
The Fall Festival also serves as the venue to the Annual School Fundraising organized by the Parents Association.
Thanksgiving Luncheon:
Each classroom dedicates some time during the month of November to teach children about Thanksgiving.
They participate in activities, crafts and a potluck luncheon. This year, the luncheon is scheduled
for Friday, Nov. 20th. Please check the bulleting board to sign up for your pot luck item.
International Night:
On December 10th A Child's Garden Montessori opens its doors for an international savory experience! ALL households
are invited to bring a dish to share representing their cultural heritage. Children also participate by eating new
foods and sharing their favorite dishes with their friends. Many parents find this event a great complimentary gourmet experience.
Holiday Winter Party:
During the holiday season children in all classes participate in a Book Exchange. Names are drawn and children are assigned a
classmate for whom to present a book. All wrapped books are collected and placed under a tree the kids decorate in their classrooms.
To celebrate "the spirit of giving" on December 18th, the school will provide lunch to all the students, and children will open the
"thoughtful gift" given by their classmate.
Valentine's Celebration:
Each classroom celebrates Valentine's Day by exchanging friendship cards and goodie bags brought
by parents. We encourage parents to let their children write and/or put together the cards
they'll give to their classmates.
Easter Egg Hunt:
On April 1st all classes at the school will have an egg hunting activity in the playground.
Please, make sure you send filled eggs with your child. The school will provide the baskets
and the fun.
Earth Day Celebration:
A Child's Garden celebrates Earth Day every year as part of its philosophy. Children are taught
to be mindful of the planet all year round, by promoting recycling, planting, energy saving
tips and so on. On April 22nd children will be planting small plants brought from home.
Classes will focus on teaching them what they can do to take care of the planet.
End of the year Musical:
Each year A Child's Garden has a recital organized by Susan Younghans, our music teacher.
Children get the opportunity to get on stage and show their parents a series of songs.
This year the musical will be celebrated on April 27th at The
Ridge Church.
