Kindergarten Graduates:
On Wednesday, May 26th at 10 am our graduates will have a ceremony to wish them farewell and celebrate
with them the completion of their first stage. From here, we'll see them embarking into other educational
programs such as the LEAP program in Carrollton, Greenhill school, Dealey Montessori and others. We hate to see
them leave, but boy, do they make us proud!
Metrocrest Social Services:
We participate in the food drive that benefits Metrocrest Social Services, a local non-profit food bank
in Carrollton. Our goal is to help provide free food to those in need, while working together to eliminate
hunger in our community this holiday season. You may drop your donated food items between Nov. 18th and Dec. 11th.
Care is the one thing we can continue to give not only during this time, but all year long.
Flu Season:
We strongly encourage all parents to have your child vaccinated for the seasonal flu now and for
the H1N1 virus when it becomes available. Frequent hand washing is also encouraged since this is always
a good first line of defense against the flu. In addition to this, we are also requesting you contact the
office if your child will not be attending school for any reason; we are trying to keep track and closely
monitor any children who may be absent due to illness.
Parents Association:
Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, ACG has started a Parents Association.
The purpose of the Parent Association is to work as a team to make ACG a great family school, where parents are
informed, educated, and involved. All parents are automatically members and are welcome
(and encouraged) to participate in the P.A. meetings. Stay tuned for upcoming events!
Scholastic Book Club:
ACG families can now order books for their children online! Look for monthly information from
the school regarding catalogs, log on information and deadlines to place orders. And don’t forget
that every time you place an order, the children will get a free book for their classroom!
Chick-fil-A:
Come join us at Chick-fil-A, located in Old Denton (across from Walmart) for A Child’s Garden Montessori
Spirit Night on every last Wednesday of each month from 3-8 pm beginning Sept 30th). Feel free to dine in
or go through the drive through, but be sure to mention you are supporting A Child’s Garden Montessori Spirit
Night and they will donate a portion of all the ticket sales back to the school.
Box Tops 4 Education:
To help improve our school we have started the Box Tops program. This program gives cash back to schools from
purchases made through the Marketplace, Reading Room and by clipping Box Tops. To participate in this initiative:
- Go to www.boxtops4education.com
- Click on the “Get a New Member Bonus” link at the bottom left
- Click on “Join Now”
- Put in ACG Zip Code 75006
- Then follow the prompts to add your information
Cell Phone Recycling Program:
ACG now participates in a year-round Cell Phones for Education program. This recycling initiative will benefit the environment
by keeping the harmful materials the phones contain out of our landfills. There are many harmful materials in cell phones
such as lead, arsenic, and beryllium. These toxic and persistent materials have a very negative and long lasting impact
on our environment. If you wish to recycle your used cell phones, please send the phones with their batteries to school,
no chargers or accessories are needed.
